In Praise of AI Slop

Take Two RSS Feeds and Make a Sail

I for one celebrate AI Slop. It will destroy the worst parts of the internet and refocus on meaningful, impactful content and away from infinite scrolls of bite-sized mindlessness that has been prioritised, monetised, and foisted on us for years.

AI slop isn’t recognisable by the average user so they call everything they see “slop” and turn away. We’ve all wanted this for years and it’s finally here.

They put boxed wine and vintages on the same shelf and we realized there’s no difference.

Let’s let slop kill the scroll and rebuild the homepage. We all have the tools. Build your ships. Or take two RSS Feeds and make a sail. Unfurl the sun-bleached spinnaker of unique and human experiences. Let’s weigh anchor out of this algorithmically stagnant pond. Nothing good grows here. The time is near when these long and shallow streams will dry up.

Let’s return to the deep oceans of the Internet and make our voyage a unique experience again.

Rebuild the arsenal of <blink> tags.

Friendster your friends. Or MySpace them and show us your Top 8.

Share the coordinates to your best Easter egg Island. We’ll meet you there when Ursa Minor is above the horizon, Phoenician-style. Take us to your strangels!

The ocean is calling. It’s prompting you seaward. The old Internet is coming back.
